While the majority of our BBQ community is welcoming and supportive, there’s a small group of elitists out there who insist that you need to spend a fortune on top-notch meat, swanky artisan fuel, and pricey grills to create amazing BBQ. It’s time to put these folks in their place and showcase that they’re wrong – because BBQ is for everyone!
That’s why I’m launching the Smoke & Sear ‘BBQ for All’ Challenge, an 8-week competition to prove that fantastic outdoor cooking is accessible to everyone, regardless of budget.
So, what’s this challenge all about? I’m calling on you to submit a single photo and recipe that demonstrates you don’t need bags of money to whip up some delicious outdoor grub. Along with your entry, provide the TOTAL cost of your example, covering the grill, fuel, meat, and ingredients, as well as a step-by-step breakdown of your process.
I’m open to all sorts of creative ideas, from DIY pit setups to cooking directly on the coals – we’re talking proper dirty cooking! It’s not just about having fun; I want to gather enough entries to create a collection of budget-friendly BBQ ideas that showcase the art of the possible. This will help further promote the idea that cooking outdoors truly is for everyone.
After the 8-week competition period, I’ll open up voting to everyone so that we can help identify the top submissions and recipes that truly showcase that BBQ IS FOR ALL. These top selections will be shared across my profiles and featured in a single article that highlights how BBQ is truly for everyone, with no barriers to entry.
So, what are you waiting for? Join the Smoke & Sear ‘BBQ for All’ Challenge and let’s show the world that great BBQ doesn’t have to cost a fortune!
