For years, I’ve been asked to make a list of butchers that actually understand BBQ cuts. Not just any old butcher, but the ones that can 100% supply the cuts we love—Boston Butts, Packer Briskets, Beef Short Ribs, Proper Chicken Wings, and more.
So, I’ve finally done it. But not the way some might expect…
Why This List is Different
This isn’t just another list of random butchers across the UK. I don’t take freebies. I don’t take commission. I don’t expect anything from these butchers.
The only reason a butcher is on this list is because they’ve proven they can supply the right cuts for the BBQ community. This way, when someone from my audience reaches out to them, I can be confident they’ll actually get what they need—no awkward conversations, no confusion, just BBQ-ready cuts from people who know what they’re doing.
If a butcher meets the criteria, they can get featured here, simple as that. If they don’t, that’s cool too—this list is for the UK BBQ community, not for padding out numbers.
How Butchers Get Featured
Not every butcher makes the cut (literally). If they want to be on this list, they need to prove they understand BBQ by meeting these requirements:
Provide the following details:
- The name of their butcher shop
- Their physical address (Town/City)
- Website address (if they have one)
- How customers can get their meat – Do they offer local delivery, nationwide shipping, or is it collection only?
Send me a photo of them with all the required cuts in a single image.
(Yes, it’s a bit of work, but what better way to show they’re proud of their produce?)
That’s it. No exceptions. No half measures. If they want to be listed, they put the effort in. If not? That’s cool too—no one is forcing them.

Final Thought
I know some people won’t like this approach. That’s fine. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to use it. This list is for those who want quality butchers that actually understand BBQ—not just any random shop that happens to sell meat.
