Another @raf_typhoondisplayteam practice flight at @rafconingsby today . . . but this one was different.

I’ve seen most of the displays over time, but today was the first time I’ve watched it at 500ft — and it completely transformed the whole thing. Lower, louder, more aggressive, more immersive . . . the kind of display that grabs you properly.

Set against a beautiful blue sky too, what more could you want.

@ninjakitchenuk set me a challenge . . . showcase what the FlexFlame can do in 30 seconds 🔥

So we ran the full BBQ ladder . . .

Low & slow → beef short ribs and sausages building proper smoke and bark.

Turn it up → whole chicken and porchetta, clean heat, crisp and golden.

Then full send → tomahawk steaks over flame with a proper sear.

One grill. Every level.

The FlexFlame is seriously versatile — this thing handles everything from long slow cooks to high heat grilling without breaking a sweat.

Weekend plans got cancelled last minute, so rather than sit around doing nothing, I decided to just pack the car and get away for the day while the sun was out.

Me and Wren headed over to @theglampingpub and made the most of it. We had a good walk round the local area, ended up doing over 30,000 steps, then got set up for the evening. A few self-serve pints in the pub, some food, and now I’m in the @tentbox watching a film.

The funny thing is BBQ life is never really far away. I’ve got my @meatermade keeping an eye on the temperature in the car where Wren is tucked up on a big insulated bed with plenty of covers, and I’ve even set alerts so I can warm the car up remotely for her if needed. She lives a better life than most people to be honest.

I definitely needed the break. Just a day in the fresh air, away from the usual stress, with a bit of time to think about the year ahead and what I actually want to do with it.

Not a bad way to spend a cancelled weekend.

Iberico half rack on the Ninja FlexFlame tonight 🔥

Kept this one simple and let the pork do the talking.

Beautiful Iberico pork from @thecateringbutcher , cooked on the @ninjakitchenuk FlexFlame at 170°C with crispy potatoes on the plate, tenderstem broccoli, apple sauce and pickled onions for a bit of sharpness.

Used @fourge.bbq TEMPER on the pork and FOURGE SPARK on the potatoes 👌

Everything cooked together and landed in around 1 hour 10 minutes — proper easy outdoor cooking without overcomplicating it.

Rich pork, crispy spuds, bit of colour on the board… job done.

🔥 Reverse Seared Picanha on the Ninja FlexFlame

Ran a full picanha cook on the Ninja FlexFlame this weekend and it turned out seriously good.

Dry brined overnight, scored the fat cap, then smoked low at 115°C before finishing with a hot reverse sear to crisp up that fat cap and build a proper crust.

The beef came from @thecateringbutcher and I seasoned it with @fourge.bbq FIRE rub, which worked perfectly with the smoke and flame on this cook.
